Disclaimer: I didn’t fully complete this challenge and therefore the picture’s stop before my day ended. The reason I am okay in justifying this is that, firstly, I took pictures for most of the day and secondly, the point in doing this challenge was to remind myself of the importance in every hour of every day. To remember that moments that otherwise go missed, are actually just as significant as any other moments in life.
These picture’s are from Sunday (9th December 2018.)
I woke up at 7:25am, this is honestly the latest I’ve woken up in a good few weeks but Sunday’s are typically a day I wake up between 7 and 7:30am.
Picture 1: My Morning Run. Taken at 8:16am – it was at taking this photo I decided I would try to complete this challenge. The run was a pleasant 10 miler along an old favourite route of mine. I can recall many times I’ve run the route, including when I was about 22 and had first got into running long distances.
Picture 2: The end of the run. Taken at 9:07am. A tidy 1 hour and 17 minutes, steady paced miles but it was very muddy along the river and seeing as I was just out to enjoy myself I took those miles a bit slower. I just love running so much, a lot of the times the splits and times don’t mean much to me, other times they do though – there’s definitely a time and a place for race pace.
Picture 3: Meal preparation situation. Taken at 10:28am. Every Sunday I prepare my lunches for the week. I’ve been eating the same lunch for about 4/5 years, almost the whole time I’ve been in full time work. Part of being a fitness/health enthusiast is obviously eating well, I track my calories everyday, make sure I hit my macronutrients (most days) and I am genuinely a fan of healthy foods. These ingredients make Chicken, Avocado, Spinach and Tomato wraps, I like to vary the hot sauces I use.
Picture 4: The finished products. Taken at 11:13am. One of the most frustrating things about using wraps is every super markets sells wraps in packs of 8 which means there’s only enough for 4 days, My tactics are to, some weeks, make wraps in the mid-week days to make up for the 5th day’s lunch. That way, I can eat the other wraps on weekends (if I’m not out for lunch) and then I’ll make sure 2 get carried over into the next week for the 5th day. If anyone wants to help me appeal to get Aldi or Tesco to start making packs of 10 wraps then let me know!
Picture 5: Sunday Church. Taken at 12:13pm. Almost every weekend for the last 2/3 months, a friend and I have been spending our Sunday/Saturday mornings writing and recording songs. We actually did this on Saturday but on Sunday I sat down and recorded this week’s YouTube song. I like to use my time productively, I get a real kick and actually find it much more relaxing to be doing things rather that sat about watching TV, videos or scrolling social media.
Picture 6: Lunch. Taken at 1:03pm. These are chicken/avo wraps carried over from the week, I used a griddle pan to heat/toast them. They were delicious.
Picture 7: Coffee break. Taken at 2:34pm. I have a particular fondness for different shower gel flavours. These Original Source bottles have some pungent scents, my favourite of which is the vanilla and raspberry. It literally smells like a delicious cheesecake. Smelling like a dessert is the ultimate scent for a human being, take note Paco Rabanne.
Picture 8: Christmas tree is up. Taken at 3:00pm. Christmas festivity can sometimes get a little out of hand and I’m definitely not into the extravagant, over-the-top decorations. However, some tasteful lighting and festive decorations have my full approval, in fact I don’t know why people only decorate with fairy lights and brightly coloured materials during Christmas time. It just gives off a lot of cheery atmosphere and I love the festive spirit. We really ought to stick some sort of celebration/festival in the middle of January that means people keep up with bright and positive vibes that come with the Christmas decorating.
Picture 9: Taken at 4:03pm. Windmill walk. I headed to my girlfriends for a lovely roast dinner but before we indulged in all sorts of nourishment, we headed out for a couple of miles walking in golden evening light. It was lovely and walking/running around the Cambridgeshire fields makes me feel lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Picture 10: Where is picture 10? Well, this is where I stopped taking photos. To tell the truth, we sat up at the dinner table and I didn’t want to look at my phone. I’d left it in my coat pocket and that is where it stayed until I set my alarms that evening. It is definitely an important thing, to know when to shut off social media and indulge into the real world. A family dinner affair followed by a Christmas film with my girlfriend seemed the perfect place to not get ensued into the online universe.
I’ll leave you with that. I didn’t perhaps complete the challenge but I feel as though doing this challenge fulfilled its purpose.
Peace out y’all.
