Season 2: Post Twenty-eight.
It makes me laugh when people say things like “Wednesday already?!” Almost as if the days are not forever on a rolling loop and not always going to eventually come around. Human beings, in the western world at least, can get so fixated on what day of the week it is. As a routinist, it’s great to have a system to organise the days of the week but I don’t hold any day in better regard to any others. As I’ve said before on this blog, I actually prefer the weekdays to the weekend when I’m given the choice. I like the movement on a weekday, I like the pace, the rush. The weekend can feel out of sync and (typical routinist) out of routine.
This morning started with a 2 mile swim and an absolute cracking sunrise. Such a good sunrise that it’s almost a shame that I didn’t run but these decisions have to be made before I can tell how the sunrise is going to be… Also, I have to adhere to the training plan this week as I am racing on Sunday.
Adult life is a funny one. I prefer to my kid-ulthood, in fact I feel like right now is the best period of my life so far. It’s the most on top I’ve ever felt on everything, although thats not to say that I am on top of everything and that things are constantly going well, its just that on the whole this is the best life has ever been across the board. You’ll notice from other posts, this doesn’t stop me from striving for more but we wouldn’t be progressive forward moving humans if we just settled.
A lot of my peers have been making some pretty adult decisions lately, decisions that up until recently I would have been scared to make or perhaps would have denied to make. These days I get excited by adult decisions, they determine a lot but thats why they are exciting. Time will come soon for me to make some too.
Anyhow, I’m not really sure if there is a set point to this post or if it’s just me rambling. Though, most of my posts are just me rambling so not much change there. I’ll leave the post with one insightful comment: Remember that life is a journey and there is no real destination, progress is a rollercoaster where as long as you’re moving forward, it doesn’t really matter.
Peace & love.
